Special Outlook

Date: 10 Oct 2026 · Issued: As required

Special outlook

Post-monsoon recession is continuing in the major rivers. The Brahmaputra–Jamuna and Ganges–Padma are in a falling trend and are expected to remain well below danger level. Short-duration heavy rainfall in the south-eastern hill basin may cause a temporary rise of the Little Feni, Muhuri and Halda rivers.

Recommended actions

  • Upazila and union disaster management committees in Noakhali and Feni should monitor local river levels.
  • Fishers and boat operators in the lower Meghna estuary should follow BMD marine forecasts.
